Policeman Shoots Cab Driver Dead

                           
An unnamed police officer has reportedly shot a cab driver to death for driving against traffic at Second Rainbow bus stop, Apapa-Oshodi expressway, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos state.

The incident sparked an uproar from an angry mob which took to the highway and block the roads, causing gridlock in the area.

Some people were seen throwing stones and tyres at a police patrol van, they eventually set the van on fire.

Policemen in a convoy arrived the scene afterwards, shooting into the air to disperse the protesters.

It is three years since Davido dropped his debut album and many have being anticipating his sophomore album after the success recorded by the first but for the umpteenth time, Davido has postponed his sophomore album release date.

Ayodele Fayose, the governor of Ekiti state has condemned the activities of some University lecturers who harass female students.

Speaking at the 22nd Convocation of the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti, the governor accused some lecturers of smoking Indian hemp, harassing female students and victimising male students, The Nation reports.


Boko Haram Launches Deadly Attack In Yobe

A fresh attack by the Islamic sect- Boko Haram, at Bara town of Gulani local government area of Yobe state has reportedly left many residents dead.

Daily post reports that a top police officer who confirmed the attack said the Yobe state commissioner of police, Zannah Ibrahim had since rushed to the scene of the attack to assess the extent of havoc wrecked on the town.

BOKO Haram’s vehicle workshops, fuel and ammunition dumps in Sambisa forest have been bombed by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) jets.

A statement by NAF’s Director of Public Relations & Information, Air Commodore Dele Alonge, which made this known yesterday, gave an assurance that the latest air strikes have increased the possibility of ending insurgency in the Northeast.

NAF attributed the success of its air strikes to expert use of drones and the ATR-42 aerial surveillance aircraft.
