Stop All These Your Pranks – Attorney General Warns Saraki

The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami has warned Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki to desist from politicising his trial before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

The same warning was also handed down by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase.


They told Saraki to face the charges against him, and stop imputing political motives to his trial.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate at today’s gubernatorial election in Kogi state, Abubakar Audu, has successfully cast his vote.

This is coming following the glitches which his counterpart in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Idris Wada and wife encountered during their accreditation, where the card reader rejected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC).
The issue however resolved, as the pair were made to fill the incidence form to carry out a manual accreditation as the incumbent stormed out of the accreditation venue.

We Can No Longer Pay N18,000 Minimum Wage – Governors

         
State governors under the aegis of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum have said that they can no longer pay the N18,000 minimum wage.

According to them, the minimum wage was imposed on them when oil sold for $126 as against the present price of $41 per barrel.
This was one of the outcomes of the forum’s meeting held on Wednesday evening inside the old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The meeting ended in the early hours of Thursday.
The NGF Chairman, Abdul’aziz Yari of Zamfara State, said the way out of the situation was the diversification of the economy with attention to agriculture and mining.

105 soldiers reported missing after fight with Boko haram

No fewer than 105 soldiers are said to have gone missing after a gun battle with Boko haram sect members at Gudunbali, Borno State, on Wednesday November 18th. According to a report by Premium Times, the soldiers went missing after a fight with the insurgents who tried to capture the community early yesterday morning.

A ban has been placed by the federal government on the importation of a very common brand of generators.

According to Vanguard, the federal government imposed a ban on the generators popularly known by the masses as “I better pass my neighbour”.

Customs spokesman, Madugu Sanni Jubrin, disclosed this on Wednesday, November 18.

It is good to report that troops of 7 Division Garrison of the Nigeria Army in Maiduguri have stormed the said location and completely destroyed the factory where Boko Haram manufactured rockets.

December is around the corner, and Nigeria still thrives with shadows lurking by her doors. The dream to get rid of the pestering Boko Haram within the Northeast tends to have metamorphosed into an endless nightmare.

In May, President Muhammadu Buhari came into power, vowing to crush the Islamist rebels whose insurgency has killed at least 17,000 people since 2009.

Buhari, a retired army general and former military ruler, assured that he would see to it that the insurgents are ousted, going as far as stipulating a deadline to bring the terrorists to their knees.

There is a gradual return of fuel crisis in the country, as long queues are beginning to appear at filling stations in some major cities across the country.

Despite assurances by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) that all will be well soon, operators are skeptical that the fuel scarcity may hit harder, Premium Times reports.

Report has it that the stock of petroleum products at NNPC facilities across the country was grossly insufficient, with supply from local refineries incapable of supporting imports.

Senate Asks JAMB To Extend Validity Of Results To 3 Years

                   
ABUJA— THE Senate, yesterday, directed the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, to begin to extend the validity of its results to a period of three years.

This was even as it ordered the board to immediately stop its policy of re-assigning candidates to schools they never applied to, saying such policy was contrary to the act establishing the board.

To this end, results obtained from the board by candidates seeking admission into universities are expected to last for three years.

Fayose & Other Noise Makers Should Go Back To School Says: Presidency

The federal government has accused Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose and Senator Dino Melaye of spreading lies in their comments which alleged fraud in the implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) by the current administration, saying their lies cannot stand scrutiny.

Fayose had alleged diversion of the TSA funds to bankroll elections in Bayelsa and Kogi states while, on his part, Senator Melaye had claimed on the floor of the Senate that the firm managing the remittances had deducted a whopping N25billion as fees.

But the federal government has dismissed the claims, describing them as “contrived distraction.”

Fayose To FG: Tell Nigerians Owners Of REMITA

         
Ekiti State Governor, Ayo­dele Fayose, has challenged the Federal Government to unmask the owners of REMITA, a consultancy company which allegedly collected N25 billion fee in a day for transferring N2.5 trillion to the Treasury Single Account (TSA) on behalf of the government.

The governor said on Sunday that he would not attend the meeting called by the Federal Government with state governors on the TSA because his administration is not interested in the TSA policy, describing it as fraud against Nigerians by the All Progressives Congress (APC) led Federal Government.

Driver Flees With Company’s Car After N25,000 Deductions From His Salary

                 

One Godwin Eneche, a driver with Cerendry Solutions has been apprehended by the Lagos state police command for absconding with a Hilux car belonging to the company.

Eneche told pressmen that he left with the car in order to sell it due to the unjust deduction of N25, 000 from his salary by the company.

The culprit added that he had driven the Hilux to Maraba Rido area in Kaduna state where he met a buyer who was willing to buy it with the sum of N800, 000 before his arrest in October.
