This happened around Idimu-Egbeda, Lagos. I was on my way back home this morning when I saw a pack of okada men dragging some people out of a car in front of me, two men and a woman. I was in my car watching, thinking they must have actually bashed an okada man, as it was the norm in Lagos state, where an offense against a bike man is an offense against all the bike men in like 5 communities, they would pack you down and start harassing you.

So I thought at first, until they started beating them with woods and sticks, kicking them from all directions, while some where destroying their car. I had to come down at this point after carefully packing my car at a safe spot. I managed to part the crowd, asking what happened, The shout of 'they are kidnappers' rented the air, so I managed to go into the crowd which was swelling by the minute to take pix of them. Mario Balotelli faces backlash for posting pics of himself with a gun on Instagram

                                              
Mario Balotelli has posted a photo of himself posing with what appeared to be a gun on Instagram.
The Italian striker can be seen pointing the gun at the camera in the photo, which was accompanied with the message 'big kiss to all the haters'.
The 23-year-old later deleted the post. The move has angered Balotelli's employers AC Milan but vice president Adriano Galliani admits the club are powerless to stop players using social networks.

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce Diego Costa has today completed his transfer from Atletico Madrid by signing a five-year contract.

He will join up with the first team for our pre-season European training camp next week.

Nigerian Army lines up 21 witnesses against soldiers accused of plot to kill General

                                   
The soldiers being court-martialed allegedly revolted and opened fire on their commander’s car.
The Nigerian military has lined up 21 witnesses to testify against 18 soldiers who are being court-martialed over allegations that they mutinied while at their duty post in Maiduguri and tried to kill their General Officer Commanding in the process.

The witnesses include a Major General, two Brigadier Generals, three colonels, two Lieutenant Colonels, two Majors, and three Captains.

Others are a Lieutenant, two second Lieutenants, one Master Warrant Officer, three Sergeants and a private soldier. Continue...

Adamawa state Governor Nyako impeached, deputy resigns position

                                  
Adamawa State House of Assembly members this afternoon July 15th impeached the state governor, Murtala Nyako, following a report by a 7-man investigative committee that probed allegations of gross misconduct and financial impropriety against him.

The report, which was read by the State Assembly Speaker Umaru Fintiri on the floor of the House, found the governor guilty of all the 16 allegations of gross misconduct. 18 out of the 24 members of the State Assembly then signed a resolution removing the governor.

The House then passed a motion that the Speaker, Umaru Fintiri, should be sworn in as the state’s acting governor. According to reports, that will be done by 4pm today.

Meanwhile, the state Deputy Governor who was also investigated by the panel, had resigned his position earlier in the day in a letter he sent to the House of Assembly which was read by members and immediately approved.
