Troops Make Progress in North-east Anti-insurgency War, Clear 9 B’Haram-built Camps

Nigerian Army on Friday said it had in the last three days, cleared nine more camps built by Boko Haram.
The Army, in a press statement by the media coordinator of Operation Lafiya Dole, Col. Tukur Gusau, revealed that the troops of 115 Task Force Battalion under 28 Task Force Brigade during clearance operations  between 3-5 November, 2015 cleared nine  more terrorists strongholds around Lassa axis. 

Gusau said the terrorists’ camps include   Lassa, Muthavo, Dagu, Kumabza,  Izge, Unworo, Zangore, Kilekasa and Pumpum.
He said during the offensive, four Boko Haram terrorists were killed by the troops of the Nigerian Army.
Gusau also said some of the terrorists who were lucky to have fled abandoned  their weapons.


He said the weapons abandoned include seven dane guns.
Gusau also revealed that on Thursday the troops of 25 TF Bde conducted another offensive operations along Korede axis in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.

He said: “In the operations, three motorcycles suspected to be used during the last Sunday’s attack on Azir village were recovered along with stolen food stuffs from the village.”
He added that: “Terrorists observation posts were destroyed in a high ground in Korede.
“Our Troops continue to dominate roads leading to Azir, Wajikoro, Damboa, and Biu towns to deny Boko Haram terrorists any possible freedom of activities in the area.”
He claimed that: “The fighting spirit of the troops remain very high.”
