Guinea has been declared free of Ebola by the World Health Organization (WHO), two years after the epidemic began there. Guineans are expected to celebrate the landmark with concerts and fireworks. The disease killed more than 2,500 people in the country and a further 9,000 in Sierra Leone and Liberia.

The Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team, SIRT have arrested a Lance Corporal of the Nigeria Army stationed in Borno state, for allegedly supplying arms and ammunition to robbers in Lagos.

According to a report by Vanguard, the unidentified Lance corporal was arrested alongside members of a robbery gang that raided commercial banks in Lekki, Ikorodu, Festac and Agbara areas of Lagos and Ogun State recently.

This fire tragedy happened this morning at Obalende round-about... a car got completely burnt as residents around watched helplessly. According to online reports, the men of the fire service came late after the car was totally burnt.

Biafra War: Obasanjo Warns Nigerians Of Second Biafra War

Following speculation of a second Biafra war, ex-Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo, has asked Nigerians to understand the need to embrace peace and dialogue instead of beating drums of war.

In a recent dialogue with pressmen, the former general stressed that there is a need for better communication, other than gunning for another round of civil war.

Reacting to the spate of protests and demonstrations by pro-Biafra agitators in some parts of the southeast and Lagos recently, he said: “Our differences could only be addressed when issues are discussed instead of going to war”.
