Police arrest banker for forging WASCE and University results

                       

26-year-old banker, Daniel Makanjuola, has been arrested by the Police in Lagos for using a forged West African Senior School Certificate and Lagos State University’s statement of result to get a job at Wema Bank Plc, Marina branch,Lagos Island.

The police said Makanjuola pretended that he was a degree holder in marketing with Second Class, Upper Division, and had also provided a forged National Youth Service Corps discharge certificate and a reference letter to the bank before he gained employment. He claimed to have obtained the letter from United Bank for Africa, where he supposedly worked previously.

Tension as Edo Speaker escapes impeachment

                  
There was tension at the premises of the Edo State House of Assembly Monday over alleged plot to impeach Speaker Victor Edoror.

Workers at the assembly spoke in low tunes about his possible impeachment, while sympathizers of the speaker stayed around his office.

The lawmakers did not sit till about 5pm and held plenary for about 10 minutes because of executive session of the lawmakers which lasted over four hours.

Sources said some lawmakers were peeved following discovery that council chairmen in the 18 local government paid N2m each to the Speaker for the renovation of the lawmakers’ quarters.

Another source said the council chairmen have been paying N1.3m each to the lawmakers for the past six months.

Rita Ora as been incredibly busy of late, jetting from continent to continent in between filming The X Factor as she juggles her music career and her new role as a reality TV judge. 
But Rita Ora enjoyed some well-earned down time last week when she paid a visit to Knotts Scary Farm in Buena Park, California, with a group of friends.
The 24-year-old singer whooped with delight as she enjoyed all the fun of the fair, beaming from ear-to-ear as she experienced the thrills and spills of a spook-tacular ride.  

The Body On Me hitmaker went casual in black biker boots and leather-look leggings, showing off her slim, toned legs as she sat astride the ride.

Rivers indigenes commend FG for nominating Amaechi

                           
Some Rivers indigenes on Monday commended President Muhammadu Buhari for nominating former governor of the state, Chibuike Amaechi as a minister.

Mr. Somiari Ogolo, a Port Harcourt based lawyer told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Port Harcourt that Amaechi was competent to serve as a minister.

“ Amaechi worked hard and played a key role in the development of the state, “ he said.

There was an Ebola scare in Nigeria yesterday October 8th after a man died of hemorrhagic fever seven hours after he was admitted on Wednesday October 7th, making the doctors suspect it could be a new case of Ebola and immediately quarantined 10 people including nurses who treated the dead patient and every other person who had contact with him.
