Oshodi market demolition: 5,240 Igbo traders displaced, N1bn goods destroyed –CD

           
CAMPAIGN for Democracy (CD) has said about 5,240 Igbo traders were displaced with goods worth N1billion destroyed at the Owonifari Electrical Elec­tronics Market in Oshodi.

The CD has also called on Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to pay compensation to those who lost their shops to the demolition as well as pub­licly apologise to Ndigbo for the action.

BRT: Lagos govt terminates agreement with operator

         
The Lagos State Government has terminated operations of the first BRT cooperative run by the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) from the Mile12 to CMS BRT corridor with immediate effect.

This is contained in a statement signed by the state’s Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Dayo Mobereola, on Thursday in Lagos.

Graphic: Gunmen assassinate driver to Fayose's aide few months after assassinating him

The driver of an aide of Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose, was shot dead by unknown gunmen wearing masks this morning while he was traveling along the Aramoko and Igede road in Ekiti state. This killing comes after the aide, Aderiye Omolafe himself was shot dead by unknown gunmen at his office in Ijigbo in September last year. Omolafe was a former Chairman of the Ekiti state chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
